The study course is designed for those E-humanities Masters and Bachelors degree students, who haven’t taken Digital Graphic design study course prior to their studies. The study course provides the necessary basic knowledge about Colour Theory, Basic Principles of Composition as page layouts and objects, typography for digital Graphic Design and insights in Visual Identity as a part of Visual Branding. Students got practical training to create basic graphic layouts via Adobe InDesign, they got acquainted with the main principles of vector graphic via Adobe Illustrator and acquires image manipulation basic skills in Adobe PhotoShop. Students acquire knowledge about main Graphic design file formats, their usage and characteristics, the principles of different styles in typography and harmonious colour palettes to build up the comprehension about the principles of Visual Identity. The core of the study course is based on the fundamental correlation between theory and practice –by obtaining knowledge via theory, demonstration of theory in practice in real work simultaneously is shown to students. During the study course, students are showing reflective practice by implementing their knowledge into the practice, building up their understanding that Graphic Design is the synthesis between student’s theoretical knowledge obtained and technical skills to use the software. Students are gaining expertise in Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe PhotoShop software by creating layouts, making image manipulation, drawing simple abstract vector shapes, and upon knowledge gained in composition, Colour Theory and Typography are creating their homework, final course project and passing an exam. After completion of the study course, students must be able to perform simple lay outing jobs, with basic knowledge in prepress file preparation in PDF file format for printing house and online; must create a basic composition and Colour palette for Visual Identity project, must make standard Graphic design file (.jpg, .tiff, .png, .ai, indd, .pdf) manipulations whether with self produced or outer obtained. The study course is designed to build up multidisciplinary effectiveness by helping non design professionals-students to build up presentation materials, whether it would be conference presentation or research presentation, work with images bought from the Image Stocks (Shutterstock, Adobe Stock, iStock and many more) for their promotion and professional purposes. The study course is especially advised for translators, media library workers, strategic communication specialists, scripters to help them with presentation papers to visually excel in the fast changing professional arena.
